Will there be dust after the project is complete? As with any renovation project there will be some dust. Depending on the scope of the project there may be a little or a lot. We will work to prevent as much as possible but can not guarantee there will be none. If you would like, we can discuss containment options to further reduce dust going into other areas.
What if you are installing on an upper floor of my home? When performing installation work on upper floors of homes or buildings there may be additional stresses to the structure that have not happened prior. When setting heavy boxes of flooring, rolls of carpet/padding or tile materials down movement to the floor joists can cause drywall issues such as 'nail pops' on the ceiling of the areas below. MTRD will strive to be as careful as possible when setting materials down and when installing materials but cannot guarantee that 'nail pops' or similar will not happen. It will be the customer's responsibility to take care of these occurances.
Do you paint trim after carpet, wood or tile replacement? As a general practice we do not paint trim, this will be the responsibility of the customer. We will work to be careful when replacing/installing the flooring but baseboard or stair skirting will inevitably have some scuffs or scratches. It is the customer's responsibility, unless noted on the estimate, to take care of these touch ups. If you would like for us to incorporate trim painting into the estimate please let us know.
